Introducing Our Staff:
With multiple years of teaching experience and their understanding and knowledge of young children, LSP's staff is committed to offering a developmentally age-appropriate class room environment where children can explore, learn, have fun and grow! Lead teachers have a 4 year degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or a related field. Assistant teachers must have a four year degree or CDA and multiple years experience working with young children. All staff members are CPR and First Aid certified. All lead teachers and office staff are MAT trained in order to administer Emergency Medications.

Duck Class
2 1/2 -3 Years Old
Miss Sarah
Sarah Loesch is a proud member of Living Savior and teacher of the wonderful Ducks. This is her third year teaching the Ducks and she has loved every minute of it.
She started her career with preschool at the age of 15 when her high school offered an Early Childhood Education class. She has an Associates Degree from Germanna and a Bachelors degree from Mary Washington.
She has a son, Christian, who is 19 and a daughter, Chloe who is 17. Her husband Jonathan is a full time Fairfax County Police Officer and part time handy man at LSP.
She loves her class and every Duck has a piece of her heart. The Duck class becomes a little family and she looks forward to teaching your child.
Miss Tammy
After years of working with Georgetown and Fairfax Hospitals, Miss Denise joined Living Savior preschool twelve years ago to work closer to home. She and her husband live in Burke and have two teenage daughters that keep them busy.
Miss Denise has two roles at LSP, she is one of our Stay 'N Play (SNP) teachers and is the assistant teacher in our Duck class. Miss Denise truly enjoys the young two and three year old Ducks and is often seen being hugged by the many children who attend our SNP program.
In her free time Miss Denise enjoys spending time with her family, walking with friends and collecting beach glass along Lake Erie.
Elephant Class
3 and 4 Years Old
Miss Kiyomi
Miss Kiyomi is originally from Japan where she met her husband and then moved to the U.S. to start a family. She has been with Living Savior Preschool for fifteen years which started when she registered her now 20 year old son with our program. Miss Kiyomi is the lead teacher in our three and four year old Elephant class. She believes that preschool should be a place where children can learn and have fun. According to her students, she is the "BEST underdog swing pusher."
When Miss Kiyomi is not at LSP she enjoys spending time with her family including three children and her retired Air Force husband.
Miss Harmony
A former parent of a child here at Living Savior Preschool, Miss Harmony has joined our staff to assist the Elephant class. She has worked at our school for two years. She earned a bachelors degree from Truman State University. She has spent much of her career as an advocate for children. She enjoys volunteering in her community.
Monkey Class
4 Years Old
Miss Sarah
This is Ms. Sarah's 3rd year teaching the Monkey class. Her youngest son attended the preschool for 2 years giving her the opportunity to get to know the LSP community. Ms. Sarah's background is in Social Work and she holds both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Social Work. She has spent years working in Foster Care, working with teens/family in therapy, training Foster Parents and most recently worked for the County in the Institute for Early Learning. These experiences, combined with her love of engaging with young children have helped prepare her for this role.
Originally from South Africa this area is now home. She and her husband Chris have 4 boys. They are invested in their neighborhood, church community, relationships and all aspects of doing life together.
Miss Lisa
Lisa C. Smith is the assistant teacher in our Monkey class. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing from Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland. She homeschooled for the last 25 years before joining the staff at Living Savior Preschool in September 2020. She has also worked for over three decades caring for and teaching children. She has also ministered in nurseries, taught in Vacation Bible Schools, and worked with young people in youth groups. She enjoys helping children to develop and achieve his or her full age-appropriate potential in a safe and caring environment. In her free time she loves to read and explore various hobbies. She and her husband have five children.
Turtle Class
Pre-Kindergarten
Miss Katie
Katie Hovell earned her B.S. and M.A.T. in Elementary Education, with a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, from James Madison University. Katie taught third and fourth grade Advanced Academics for four years in Fairfax County Public Schools and was honored as a finalist for Outstanding First Year Teacher in 2014. Most recently, Katie has taught pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. Katie serves on the NICU Parent Advisory Council at INOVA Fairfax Children’s Hospital. She’s the proud mother of a son who also attends Living Savior Preschool.
Miss Kristie
Miss Kristie has been the assistant teacher in the Pre-K class for sixteen years. She is also an assistant teacher in our Summer Camp and lead teacher for Stay 'N Play. Miss Kristie came to Living Savior with many years of experience working with young school children.
Miss Kristie and her husband have been married for thirty two years and have one grown daughter. She likes to hike, sing and is an avid reader. Miss Kristie actively participates each year in the Burke/Fairfax Crop Walk raising money and awareness for those in need. She can often be heard singing with the children throughout the halls of Living Savior Preschool!
Director
Miss Terri
Miss Terri joined Living Savior Preschool as the director this year. She has a Masters Degree in Social Work. She has lived in Burke since she moved here with her family in 2014. Before moving to Virginia she has lived in many places in the world with her husband Eric and her two kids Micah and Karis.
Miss Terri loves working with children and watching them begin to develop a love of learning. She believes that building relationships is an important part of becoming a life-long learner.
Movement Teacher
Miss Jill
Miss Jill has been with Living Savior preschool for thirteen years. She taught in our 3 and 4 year old classes before taking the Pre-Kindergarten, Turtle teacher position. Miss Jill taught 2nd and 3rd grade in Fairfax County Public Schools before staying home to raise her children. She has a K-12 teaching degree and a Master's in Early Childhood Education.
When not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her 5 grown children, hiking, and biking.
