Introducing Our Staff: 
    With multiple years of teaching experience and their understanding and knowledge of young children, LSP's staff is committed to offering a developmentally age-appropriate class room environment where children can explore, learn, have fun and grow!  Lead teachers have a 4 year degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or a related field.   Assistant teachers must have a four year degree or CDA and multiple years experience working with young children.  All staff members are CPR and First Aid certified.  All lead teachers and office staff are MAT trained in order to administer Emergency Medications.

Miss Sarah

     Miss Sarah is a member of Living Savior Lutheran Church's congregation. We are excited to have her join us as the Duck teacher this year! Check back for an updated biography.

Ducks Class

2 1/2 -3 Years Old

Miss Denise  

     After years of working with Georgetown and Fairfax Hospitals, Miss Denise joined Living Savior preschool eleven years ago to work closer to home. She and her husband live in Burke and have two teenage daughters that keep them busy. 

     Miss Denise has two roles at LSP, she is one of our  Stay 'N Play (SNP) teachers and is the assistant teacher in our  Duck class.  Miss Denise truly enjoys the young two and three year old Ducks and is often seen being hugged by the many children who attend our SNP program.  

     In her free time Miss Denise enjoys spending time with her family, walking with friends and collecting beach glass along Lake Erie. 

Elephant Class

3 and 4 Years Old

Miss Ellie

     Miss Ellie came to Living Savior Preschool a few years ago when her older daughter was enrolled in our Turtle class.  This is Miss Ellie's third year as a teacher at our school, starting as the Elephant assistant teacher and now the lead teacher.  She is also one of our Stay 'N Play teachers!  Miss Ellie has a Masters Degree in teaching English as a Second Language and is licensed to teach K-12 in the state of Virginia.  Miss Ellie enjoys teaching new ideas to the children and challenging them to ask questions about anything that is new and exciting. Miss Ellie truly enjoys children and watching them grow in her class!

     In her spare time, Miss Ellie likes traveling and watching movies.  She loves discovering new places to visit with her family.  We are so lucky to have Miss Ellie as a part of our staff!   

Miss Kiyomi 

     Miss Kiyomi is originally from Japan where she met her husband and then moved to the U.S. to start a family. She  has been with Living Savior Preschool for thirteen years which started when she registered her now 20 year old son with our program. Miss Kiyomi is the assistant teacher in our three and four year old Elephant class. She believes that preschool should be a place where children can learn and have fun.  According to her students, she is the "BEST underdog swing pusher."  

     When Miss Kiyomi is not at LSP  she enjoys spending time with  her family including three children and her retired Air Force husband.

Monkey Class

4 Years Old

Miss Sarah

     This is Ms. Sarah's 1st year teaching the Monkey class. Her youngest son attended the preschool for 2 years giving her the opportunity to get to know the LSP community. Ms. Sarah's background is in Social Work and she holds both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Social Work.  She has spent years working in Foster Care, working with teens/family in therapy, training Foster Parents and most recently worked for the County in the Institute for Early Learning. These experiences, combined with her love of engaging with young children have helped prepare her for this role.

     Originally from South Africa this area is now home. She and her husband Chris have 4 boys. They are invested in their neighborhood, church community, relationships and all aspects of doing life together.  

Miss Harmony

     A former parent of a child here at Living Savior Preschool, Miss Sarah has joined our staff to teach the Monkey class. We are excited to have her with us! Check back for an updated biography.

Turtle Class

Pre-Kindergarten

Miss Jill

     Miss Jill has been with Living Savior preschool for twelve years. She taught in our 3 and 4 year old classes before taking the Pre-Kindergarten, Turtle teacher position four years ago. Miss Jill taught  2nd and 3rd grade in Fairfax County Public Schools before staying home to raise her children.   She has a K-12 teaching degree and a Master's in Early Childhood Education.  At the end of each year, Miss Jill is proud of her Turtle children's accomplishments as they head off to Kindergarten!

     When not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her 5 grown children, hiking, and biking. 

Miss Kristie

     Miss Kristie has been the assistant teacher in the Pre-K class for fifteen years. She is also an  assistant teacher in our Summer Camp and lead teacher for Stay 'N Play. Miss Kristie came to Living Savior  with many years of experience working with young school children. 

     Miss Kristie and her husband have been married for thirty two years and have one grown daughter.  She likes to hike, sing and is an avid reader.  Miss Kristie actively participates each year in the Burke/Fairfax Crop Walk raising money and awareness for those in need. She  can often be heard singing with the children throughout the halls of Living Savior Preschool!

Office Staff 

Miss Anne

     Miss Anne is a retired Coast Guard wife with four children of her own. Miss Anne is a registered nurse licensed in Virginia but chooses to teach young children.   Miss Anne taught at  a private elementary school in Florida before joining LSP in 2008 as a kindergarten assistant teacher.       She  has taught both the 3 year old Duck and 4 year old Elephant classes.  She became the Director for the 2018-2019 school year. Miss Anne believes that children grow and build confidence  when engaged in hands on experiences guided by a compassionate and caring staff. 

     When not at LSP, Miss Anne enjoys vacationing at her beach house, deep-sea fishing and boating.  She enjoys exercising and spending time with her husband,  four children and her dog.

Miss Liz

     Miss Liz joined Living Savior Preschool twenty years ago when her youngest daughter was three years old.  She has taught in our threes, kindergarten  and most recently our four year old classes.  This is her third year as the Administrative Assistant for LSP. You will find her in the halls or in the office lending a hand wherever it is needed. 

     Miss Liz is a very busy mother of six children and  six  grandchildren.  Additionally she is an active  advocate and personal representative for the Arthritis Foundation.  If she is not at home tending to her family, she is hopping on a plane to attend an event where she will speak proactively on behalf of the Arthritis Foundation and those who are affected by the disease.  She is a very helpful person and busy mom!

Music Teacher

Miss Mary

     After many years of teaching the Koala and Duck classes, Miss Mary has transitioned into working with all of our classes as the music teacher. Prior to joining the LSP staff, she taught elementary school in both Chicago and Fairfax County Public Schools. Several years ago, Miss Mary's two children attended LSP while she taught in our 3 year old class and Stay 'N Play program. While raising her  children she spent many years substitute teaching in the county and teaching preschool aged  Sunday school classes at her church.

     Miss Mary and her husband enjoy working with the high school youth group at their church, watching their daughter dance and listening to their son play guitar.  Miss Mary's enthusiasm for teaching and her creative ideas are loved by her students and families.
