Our Staff

Introducing Our Staff: 

    With multiple years of teaching experience and their understanding and knowledge of young children, LSP's staff is committed to offering a developmentally age-appropriate class room environment where children can explore, learn, have fun and grow!  Lead teachers have a 4 year degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or a related field. Assistant teachers must have a four year degree or CDA and multiple years experience working with young children.  All staff members are CPR and First Aid certified.  All lead teachers and office staff are MAT trained in order to administer Emergency Medications.

Duck Class

2 1/2 -3 Years Old

Miss Tammy

 Miss Tammy began working with LSP in 2022 as the lead Duck teacher.  As a member of a military family, she has moved many times and lived in a lot of cool places.  She holds a bachelors degree in education from Eastern Illinois University.  Tammy loves using creative lesson plans to engage the youngest of our students in the Duck room.  Her sensory bins, dramatic play, and art projects are so much fun!  Also, the Ducks love to get involved in preparing food projects during class. they have a lovely time learning from Miss Tammy.

Elephant Class

3 and 4 Years Old

Miss Karen

     Miss Karen earned her BA in Elementary Education from the College of William and Mary and a Masters in Education from University of Virginia. She has taught Kindergarten and Jr Kindergarten for over 35 years. Her introduction to our school was when her grandson was a student in the Monkeys class.  Miss Karen has one son, two daughters and 2 grand children.  She loves to design thoughtful and playful experiences that intentionally promote growth across all aspects of development. She is the Virginia Chapter President for Pajama Program, a nonprofit that provides new pajamas and books to children in need.

Miss Brianna

 

  Miss Brianna is in her second year at LSP and working as an assistant in the Elephant class. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Music from George Mason University. She has worked as a tutor for elementary aged children as well as a theater camp director. She is passionate about empowering children to express their feelings and advocate for themselves. Some of her hobbies include baking, community theater, and singing.

Monkey Class

4 Years Old

Miss Sarah

     This is Ms. Sarah's 4th year teaching the Monkey class. Her youngest son attended the preschool for 2 years giving her the opportunity to get to know the LSP community. Ms. Sarah's background is in Social Work and she holds both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Social Work.  She has spent years working in Foster Care, working with teens/family in therapy, training Foster Parents and most recently worked for the County in the Institute for Early Learning. These experiences, combined with her love of engaging with young children have helped prepare her for this role.

     Originally from South Africa this area is now home. She and her husband Chris have 4 boys. They are invested in their neighborhood, church community, relationships and all aspects of doing life together.

Turtle Class

Pre-Kindergarten

Miss Mandy

      Mandy Brown comes to Virginia as a military spouse.  She has lived in exciting places to include Alaska and Germany! Miss Mandy was the assistant in the Turtle class last year and is ready to lead the Turtles this year. She holds a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Minot State University.  She has worked in a variety of educator roles before coming to our school. Mandy has a real gift for managing classroom behaviors and helping young children learn how to communicate their feelings.  

Miss Sheeba

     Miss Sheeba began working at LSP in our Monkey class and as a Stay and Play teacher last year. she holds a Master of Science degree from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in India. After volunteering in a local elementary school, she decided to pursue employment at our preschool.

     Miss Sheeba and her husband have two sons.  Her goal at work is to make sure the children feel safe, secure and loved!

Director

Miss Terri

     Miss Terri joined Living Savior Preschool as the director this year.  She has a Masters Degree in Social Work.  She has lived in Burke since she moved here with her family in 2014.  Before moving to Virginia she has lived in many places in the world with her husband Eric and her two kids Micah and Karis.

     Miss Terri loves working with children and watching them begin to develop a love of learning.  She believes that building relationships is an important part of becoming a life-long learner.

     

  

Movement Teacher

Miss Jill

Miss Jill has been with Living Savior preschool for thirteen years. She taught in our 3 and 4 year old classes before taking the Pre-Kindergarten, Turtle teacher position. Miss Jill taught  2nd and 3rd grade in Fairfax County Public Schools before staying home to raise her children.   She has a K-12 teaching degree and a Master's in Early Childhood Education. 

     When not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her 5 grown children, hiking, and biking. 

Miss Harmony

     A former parent of a child here at Living Savior Preschool, Miss Harmony joined our staff as an assistant teacher and is now the administrative assistant for Miss Terri. She has worked at our school for three years.  She earned a bachelors degree from Truman State University.  She has spent much of her career as an advocate for children.  Her husband is active duty Air Force and they have 2 children that attend Fairfax County Public Schools. She loves working with children and seeing them grow throughout the year.
